Police on Berbice’s West Coast are looking into the death of 27-year-old Dwayne Byass, also known as ‘Eddo,’ of Golden Fleece.

The self-employed guy was stabbed to death Monday afternoon during a domino game at a shop in Paradise, on Berbice’s West Coast.

According to a police statement on the murder, Byass and a 26-year-old male named Nascio Allen were playing dominoes at the shop when they got into a disagreement over the game.

During the fight, Allen allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Byass in the abdomen before fleeing the shop with the murder weapon.

The injured man slumped in the shop and was transported to Mahaicony Hospital, where he died.

Nascio Allen, the suspect, later appeared at the Weldaad Police Station and told officers that he was attacked first by the other man, who he said rushed into the knife while he was carrying it.

The culprit was quickly apprehended, and the inquiry is ongoing.
