  • Police identify teen killed in road traffic accident

The victim of a tragic road traffic collision in Bermuda has been identified, according to the Bermuda Police Service (BPS). Jeremiah Phillips, 17, is the victim.

Phillips died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, which happened around 3:30 a.m. on Verdmont Road, just south of the intersection with Verdmont Valley Drive, Smith’s.

Phillips was riding a motorbike north on Verdmont Road with two pillion passengers at the time.

He was approaching a sweeping left-hand bend on his motorcycle when it collided with three other motorcycles travelling in the opposite direction.

His pillion passenger, a 15-year-old male, is still classified in critical condition in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

A 19-year-old man riding one of the other motorcycles involved in the crash was treated and released from the hospital.

The police have launched an investigation into this situation. A BPS Family Liaison Officer has also been assigned to help the deceased’s family during this sad period.
