An altercation between two delegates attending the current UN Special Committee on Decolonisation seminar in Kingstown St Vincent, left one hospitalised.
A reliable source close to the conference told News784 that one of the persons involved was left unresponsive, and had to be taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Up to News time, news784 has not been able to determine the condition of the delegate. The incident according to the source, reportedly took place something after 11 am today.
It is not clear to News784 what may have sparked the physical exchange between to the two delegates, an Algerian and a Moroccan.
However, Special Committee members from the four regional groups: the Group of African States, the Group of Asia-Pacific States, the Group of Eastern European States and the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States, are discussing “The future for decolonization in the Non-Self-Governing Territories: what are the prospects?”
Representatives from just over 30 countries are attending the seminar being held at the NIS conference room in Kingstown.
