Sandy Bay Coastal Defence To Begin In August 2017

Work would begin shortly on the Sandy Coastal Defence, this was disclosed by an Offical of the Ministry of Transport and Works in Kingstown.

Tenders are currently out for the project and are expected to be submitted by the end of May 2017.

Officials at the Ministry told News784 that the project is expected to begin in the latter half of this year.

Significant damage occurred in Sandy Bay in November of last year due to multiple trough systems, damaging bridges, roads and deposited significant sediments on the Sandy Bay shoreline.
