The C.W Prescod Primary School, hosted a Father’s Conference under the theme, “Bridging the Gap”. It took place at Frenches House in Kingstown St Vincent.
The conference was held for the fathers of the children attending the school, fathers of the surrounding schools and other parents were invited.
The objective of the conference was to engage the fathers in the education of their children.
The conference also looked at “The Importance of Fatherhood in Today’s Society” by Mr Conroy Huggins, PTA president and “Fathers as Mentors, Bridging the Gap” by Mr Cleton Burnette, Parent at the school.
There was an open forum on how fathers can become more involved in their children’s education. In the end, the school decided to set up a committee to bridge the gap between home and school.
The conference was convened by the school’s guidance counsellor.
