Hours after a High Court ruling reinstated Erla Harewood-Christopher as Commissioner of Police, an official handover of office took place at the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Administration Building in Port of Spain.
Speaking to the media outside the building, Senior Counsel Pamela Elder, attorney for the Commissioner, described Harewood-Christopher’s arrest as “unjustified.”
Elder said she had advised her client to pursue the strongest possible legal action, noting that the Commissioner had endured a “nightmare” from the day of her arrest until her suspension was lifted and she was allowed to return to her post.
