A man could have lost his life on Monday night ( 14th August 2017) due to a new and developing trend by criminals.
According to the information obtained, at about 11 pm on Monday evening, two individuals driving along the Marriaqua main road came upon a chair in the middle of the road.
To continue their journey, one of the occupants exited the vehicle to remove the seat at which time an armed assailant opened fire.
The driver of the vehicle sustained a hit to the arm while sitting behind the steering wheel. The individual who alighted from the Vehicle escaped unhurt.
The wounded driver is said to have been taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital after medical checks at the Evesham Health Clinic.
Police are investigating the matter as an attempted robbery.
