1 Min Read

Dolphin Gymnastics and Health Academy is the first gymnastics program in St Vincent and the Grenadines teaching the sport to children throughout the country.

The gymnastics program was started in October, 2015 by USA elite coach La Prise Harris-Williams, The news and excitement around the sport grew nation-wide and the young participants have developed in a short time to compete in Texas, Florida and Barbados placing in the top three positions overall in those Championships.

The team’s success led to increased interest with a number of young Vincentians seeking to join up. In order to adequately and safely train the young gymnasts, the association needed to install a special spring floor.

They recently received a donation toward the floor from officials at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.

Mrs. Harris-Williams thanked the bank for the donation which she said would ensure that even more children will be able to benefit from the activities of the club once the new floor was installed.

HR Business Support Officer of CIBC FirstCaribbean, Jacintha Hinds said the bank was happy to assist the Dolphin Gymnastics as they contributed to the development of the youth St Vincent and the Grenadines.
