Labourer Charged with Damage to Property and Wounding
On January 24, 2026, police arrested and charged Trevor Primus, a 42-year-old labourer of Largo Height, with the offences of damage to property and wounding.
According to investigations, the accused, without lawful excuse, damaged three 3×3 window panes valued at $326.67 ECC by smashing them with a stone, the property of a 68-year-old landscaper, a resident of the same address.
He was further charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding the same complainant by stabbing him on the right side of his upper back with a knife.
The offences were committed in Largo Height on July 31, 2025, and August 1, 2025, respectively.
Primus appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on January 26, 2026. In relation to the offence of wounding, he pleaded guilty; however, the presiding magistrate entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. He was granted bail in the sum of $2,000.00 ECC with one surety and was ordered not to have any contact with the complainant. He was also ordered to report to the Central Police Station every Monday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., to seek the court’s permission before leaving the state, to surrender all travel documents, and stop notices were placed at all ports of entry and exit.
In relation to the offence of damage to property, Primus was bonded for six months in the sum of $750.00 ECC. In default, he will pay $750.00 ECC or spend four months at His Majesty’s Prison. He was also ordered to pay compensation to the complainant in the sum of $426.61 ECC by February 20, 2026. In default, he will spend five months at His Majesty’s Prison.
