People have a problem with young people speaking their minds these days. They think that just because you’re young, you shouldn’t challenge things or ask questions. Well, I don’t see it that way. I’ve never said I’m better than anyone, but I also won’t stay quiet when people try to talk down to me. Facts matter more than opinions, so here’s mine.

Back in October 2024, I joined a round table discussion on school safety with the Ministry of Education and students from several schools. I spoke up about unsafe school buildings, broken railings, and the lack of proper safety measures.

In April 2025, I represented Dr JP Eustace Memorial Secondary School at the National Tourism Youth Congress. Out of students from across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, I placed second overall. I shared my ideas and showed that young people can contribute meaningfully to national development.

By May 2025, I had written several opinion articles that sparked national conversations. I wrote “Our Citizenship Is Not for Sale” and “Why I Stand Against CBI”, explaining how Citizenship by Investment could threaten our national identity, security, and unity. I also wrote “How Broken Homes and Pain Lead Youths into Crime”, highlighting the real social issues behind youth violence.

In October 2025, I joined a discussion with college students and the Venezuelan Ambassador. While many stayed quiet or asked easy questions, I asked serious questions about geopolitics, regional relations, and how international decisions affect young people here at home.

I’m not just about writing and speaking. I’m also an actor, singer, and dancer. I started dancing in primary school in 2019, began singing in 2023, and performed at the National Performing Arts Festival in 2024. Today, I continue to act and perform with the Department of Culture, the Carnival Development Corporation, and other organisations.

I also served in the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Force for three years. When Hurricane Beryl hit, I volunteered every single day at NEMO to help the country get back on its feet. I’ve also volunteered at national and cultural events because if it’s about building my country, I’ll do it for free.

There’s so much more I’ve done, but I’ll leave it here for today

So, go ahead and call me dunce or stupid. That’s fine. But this is the same “dunce” who writes articles shaping national debate, asks the hard questions ambassadors don’t expect, represents schools at national events, performs on stage, volunteers when disaster strikes, and gives my time to culture and community projects. While some hide behind insults, I show up, I speak up, and I do the work and I’ll keep doing it.
