Rotaract ‘one wish project’ aids 40 vulnerable families

ROTARACT CLUB EMPOWERS 40 HOUSEHOLDS THROUGH THE ONE WISH PROJECT

The Rotaract Club of Kingstown officially completed all phases of its Signature Project, the One Wish Project, on January 24, 2026. The One Wish Project is a two-phase initiative led by the club, aimed at collecting non-perishable food and essential household supplies to support vulnerable communities across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

From December 10 to December 19, 2025, Rotaract Club of Kingstown members and prospective members were stationed at C.K. Greaves, Massy Stores Arnos Vale, with an additional donation drop-off box located at Massy Stores Kingstown, to encourage public contributions to the One Wish Initiative. The club also continued to accept donations beyond this period, from December 20, 2025 to January 17, 2026, to further support the project’s objectives.

Following the donation period, members and volunteers packaged the collected items on January 18 and January 22, 2026. All donations were subsequently distributed to beneficiaries on Saturday, January 24, 2026, marking the successful completion of the project.

A total of 40 donation bags were distributed to 40 families in the Brighton and Diamond communities, benefiting approximately 160 individuals.

The Rotaract Club of Kingstown extends sincere appreciation to C.K. Greaves and Massy Stores for generously providing their locations to facilitate donation collection as well as donation bags for packaging. Special thanks are also extended to the Social Development Department of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Community Empowerment, Disaster Management and National Heritage for selecting beneficiaries and serving as the primary liaison between the club and recipients.

The club is equally grateful to Boom 106.9, Hot 97.1, and WE FM for offering their media platforms to promote the initiative and encourage community involvement. Finally, heartfelt thanks are extended to all prospective and active members who volunteered their time and effort, contributing significantly to the success of the One Wish Project.
