SV2G is delighted to announce an award of £98,010.00 from Arts Council England to deliver a new two year cultural and musical heritage project.
Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the project will bring together musicians, cultural practitioners, and young people to explore the deep cultural connections between African drumming traditions, Indigenous Garifuna drums, and Caribbean steelpans.
The project blends cultural heritage, AI technology, and creative learning that celebrates the evolution of rhythms from ancestral drums to steelpans.
“This award from Arts Council England is a profound endorsement of the cultural work we have championed for many years. Our communities carry a rich musical lineage, and the awarded grant allows us to honour that legacy with renewed purpose to explore through creativity and innovation” – Chris Roberts, SV2G Chairman.
