A powerful magnitude 6.0 earthquake rattled the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean on Saturday morning. The seismic event occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. local time, shaking the region.
According to reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was located roughly 43.5 miles (70.1 kilometers) from the village of Codrington, situated on the island of Barbuda.
Despite the significant strength of the quake, officials have confirmed that there is currently no tsunami threat to the surrounding islands
