India Hands Over Edinboro Hardcourt

The High Commissioner of India to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Subhash Prasad Gupta, officially transferred the Edinboro Hardcourt to the government and citizens during a handover ceremony on Monday, June 1, 2026.

This handover marks the completion of one of five community-based initiatives established under the Quick Impact Project Agreement, a cooperative venture between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The ceremony featured key government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs, Honourable Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, and the Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries, Honourable Kaschaka Cupid. The Parliamentary Representative for West Kingstown, Honourable Daniel Cummings, Coordinator of Sports Mr. Roxell John, and representatives from BRAGSA were also in attendance.

During the proceedings, Minister Cupid expressed deep appreciation for India’s continued partnership. He pledged the local government’s commitment to further enhance the hardcourt with the installation of solar-powered lighting, while assuring that the facility would be well-maintained for community use.

Parliamentary Representative Cummings highlighted the positive impact the hardcourt is expected to have on the lives of local youth. He also praised BRAGSA for their project oversight and called upon the local residents to embrace community stewardship to maintain and improve the surrounding environment.

Following the event, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs released a statement formally thanking the Republic of India and all involved stakeholders. The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relationship shared between the two nations.
