A “crisis of governance” is reportedly enveloping St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with the Opposition claiming the current administration is “innocent of the extent of the condition” and has no path forward.

The Opposition Leader described a nation in disarray, where essential services are faltering, public servants are allegedly being intimidated, and the economy is “dead”.

Key points of the alleged crisis include:

  • Public Servant Intimidation: Claims that “NDP crazies” have threatened teachers, nurses, and police officers with job loss or lack of promotion if they associate with the Labor family.
  • Administrative Chaos: Reports of ministers bypassing Permanent Secretaries to order equipment, leading to potential legal and financial liability for subordinates.
  • Social Safety Net Collapse: Despite a nominal increase in public assistance, the leader claims the total number of recipients is being slashed, leaving single parents and the elderly “living in a state of anxiety”.

“The place is like it’s on autopilot,” the leader warned, noting that Parliament has not met for over a month despite a backlog of national issues.
