In observance of Men’s Mental Health Month this June, Pastor Brent St. Jean has delivered an encouraging public message directed specifically at the men of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
June is dedicated to Men’s Mental Health Awareness. It serves as a vital time to challenge the societal stigma that discourages men from expressing emotions, while encouraging help-seeking behaviors and normalizing therapy to reduce tragically high rates of male suicide.
Addressing the societal pressures often placed on men, Pastor St Jean emphasized that they are not meant to carry the weight of their struggles alone, noting that God never intended for them to bear such a heavy load.
He urged anyone feeling overwhelmed or under pressure to actively seek out someone they trust to get the necessary help and support.
A core focus of the pastor’s message was aimed at breaking down the stigma associated with male vulnerability.
He reminded his audience that asking for help should not be viewed as a form of weakness, but rather as a proactive and necessary step in prioritizing one’s well-being.
St Jean closed his supportive address by wishing the community a “Happy men’s mental health month”.
