The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services released its 72-hour weather outlook today at noon, forecasting a shift in regional weather patterns as a weak tropical wave approaches the islands.

According to Meteorological Forecaster Joan Mc Donald, the concentration of Saharan dust currently over the area is gradually thinning out. However, residents should prepare for slight to moderate haze to return by mid-week. The approaching tropical wave is expected to bring a few scattered showers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the next few days.

Wind conditions will generally feature a moderate to fresh breeze between 25 and 35 km/h, blowing from the northeast and east. These winds are expected to temporarily decrease to speeds of 20 to 25 km/h during Tuesday.

Sea conditions across the islands are anticipated to remain slight to moderate. Swells will measure near 1.0m (3ft) on the western coasts, and range between 1.5m (5ft) and 1.8m (6ft) east of the islands. Mariners and beachgoers should note that a slight rise in swell heights, potentially reaching up to 2.0m (6.5ft), is possible during Thursday night.

The Meteorological Services has confirmed that there are no weather or marine advisories or warnings currently in effect for the region.
