St Vincent Ambassador to Taiwan, H.E Kenton X. Chance, honored two young Vincentians with outstanding academic excellence, Kevie Eston Charles Frederick Jr. and Sharleen T. Branch, after they recently completed their studies at well-known universities in Taiwan
Kevie Eston Charles Frederick Jr., who now serves as the President of the Vincentian in Taiwan Association (VITA), received a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Trade from Ming Chuan University International College (MCUIC). On June 7, 2026, at his graduation ceremony, Frederick was given three awards of distinction: the Outstanding Academic Award; the Special Contribution Award for the IC college; and the Five Virtues Award. This award is bestowed upon individuals whose overall performance ranks them among the top tier in areas such as Morals, Knowledge, Sports, Teamwork and Aesthetics.
Throughout his time at MCUIC, while earning a flawless 4.0 GPA, Frederick compiled a long list of extracurricular and athletic achievements. He appeared on the Dean’s List four consecutive semesters; he obtained a National Science and Technology Council research grant; and he earned the TaiwanICDF Outstanding Academic Award twice. In addition to his athletic prowess, Frederick won three medals competing in the MCU men’s general group 800m. Furthermore, he delivered presentations at two academic conferences; and he participated in the 9th National College/University B2B Cross-Border E-Commerce Competition.
In addition to congratulating Kevie Eston Charles Frederick Jr., the Embassy extended its best wishes to Sharleen T. Branch for completing her Master of Arts in Art & Design from National Dong Hwa University. As Branch progressed through her graduate program, she was recognized continuously by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA); she was awarded the MOFA Academic Achievement Awards for 2023 and 2024, ultimately being awarded the MOFA Outstanding Graduate Student Award for 2026.
Sharleen Branch has been using her art talent to support the work of the Embassy. Branch created the covers for the Embassy’s 2026 Graduation Yearbook; and she produced a special painting that Ambassador Kenton X. Chance gave to Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Lin Chia-lung, when he formally presented his credentials on May 26, 2026. Sharleen’s graduation was a significant international celebration that brought together many of her family members and friends who traveled to Taiwan from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
As an expression of pride in its student body, Ambassador Kenton X. Chance attended both graduation ceremonies to compliment these young scholars on their exemplary performances. The Ambassador who is a graduate of MCUIC attended Mr. Frederick’s ceremony along with his wife, Mrs. Symantha Chance.
