The Ministry of National Security, Disaster Management and Immigration, operating through the Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU), has officially announced the launch of the Public Service Week of Activities, scheduled to take place from June 16 to June 23, 2026. The week-long celebration will culminate on June 23, which is globally recognized as Public Service Day.
This year’s observance is anchored by the United Nations theme: “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation and Inclusion”. According to the PSRU, this theme highlights the urgent need to modernize government operations, ensuring that public institutions remain transparent, responsive, and accessible to everyone. It also serves as a call to action for public servants to champion inclusive service delivery and actively involve citizens in decision-making processes.
In accordance with UN General Assembly Resolution 57/277, the annual observance provides an opportunity for the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to honor the dedication, professionalism, and daily contributions of public officers who deliver essential services to the nation.
To celebrate public service excellence, the PSRU has organized a dynamic and diverse program of events that will engage serving officers, interns, retirees, church communities, and the general public.
