SVG national found dead in Dominica

Authorities in Dominica are actively investigating the suspected homicide of 45-year-old Joshwin Carlice Morgan, a Vincentian (St Vincent) national who was found dead on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Preliminary reports indicate that officers from the Portsmouth Police Station responded to a report of a suspected homicide in Ti-Bay at approximately 8:10 p.m.. Upon arrival, police discovered Morgan unresponsive inside a motor vehicle, sustaining what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Following the discovery, Morgan was transported to the Fitzroy Armour Hospital in Portsmouth. He was examined and subsequently pronounced dead by a medical doctor later that same evening. His body is currently being held at a local funeral home pending an autopsy and post-mortem examination.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF), with acting Police Public Relations Officer ASP Fixton Henderson providing preliminary details, confirmed the ongoing nature of the investigation. At this time, law enforcement officials have not released any information concerning a possible motive or identified any suspects.

Authorities are appealing to anyone with relevant information to come forward. Members of the public can report any tips to the Portsmouth Police Station, the Criminal Investigations Department, Crime Stoppers, or any police station in Dominica to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Morgan, is originally from the Calder Ridge/Victoria Village.
