The Board of Trustees and Executive Board of the National Council for St. Vincent and the Grenadines Associations UK have announced temporary changes to their leadership team. Chair Ms. Deiana Stapleton and Vice Chair Mr. Kenneth Cupid will be taking a short sabbatical leave from their respective roles.
During this interim period, Mr. Chris Kelly MBA has been appointed to serve as Acting Chair, and Mrs. Pamela Samuel will take on the role of Acting Vice Chair.
Following the announcement, Mr. Kelly paid tribute to the dedication of the outgoing leaders, acknowledging the significant contributions both Ms. Stapleton and Mr. Cupid have made to the Vincentian community. “It is a privilege and honour to serve as Acting Chair of the National Council during this period,” Kelly stated. “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Ms. Deiana Stapleton for her outstanding leadership and commitment, and to Mr. Kenneth Cupid for his continued service and support. I also look forward to working alongside Mrs. Pamela Samuel as we continue to serve our community”.
Mr. Kelly also outlined the acting leadership’s focus during this transition, emphasizing a commitment to building upon the organization’s strong foundation. He noted that the council will continue its close collaboration with member organizations, the High Commission for St. Vincent and the Grenadines UK, and stakeholders across the wider diaspora. These collaborative efforts aim to “strengthen engagement, foster partnerships, and advance initiatives that benefit Vincentians both in the United Kingdom and at home in St. Vincent and the Grenadines”.
In closing the announcement, the National Council expressed its gratitude to its members, stakeholders, and supporters for their ongoing cooperation and commitment as the organization continues its work serving the Vincentian community.
