Nassau Cruise Port Welcomes Over 33,000 Guests
The Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) reached a historic milestone on June 8, 2026, setting a new single-day passenger record by welcoming exactly 33,254 cruise guests.
This achievement surpassed the port’s previous record of 30,538 passengers, which was set on March 11, 2025. The new figure marks an 8.9% increase, crossing the significant 33,000-passenger benchmark. The record-breaking day was fueled by the simultaneous arrival of six major cruise ships: Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Caribbean Princess, and Disney Fantasy.
Mike Maura, Jr., CEO and Director of Nassau Cruise Port, called the event a “proud and meaningful achievement” for both the port and The Bahamas. He noted that reaching this benchmark reflects the destination’s overall strength, the strong confidence of their cruise line partners, and the dedication of local stakeholders who facilitate the visitor experience.
“This milestone is not only about volume,” Maura stated, emphasizing that high-performing cruise days provide significant economic opportunities across the destination. He highlighted that the massive influx of visitors directly supports local retailers, restaurants, tour operators, artisans, entertainers, and transportation providers.
The record-setting day aligns perfectly with Nassau’s growing recognition in the tourism industry. The port has been nominated for “Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Port 2026” in the World Travel Awards, a prestigious title it previously claimed in 2008.
Launched in October 2019, the NCP is currently recognized as the world’s largest transit cruise port and successfully hosted over 6.1 million passengers in 2025. The port recently underwent a massive $350 million waterfront upgrade, which features six expanded berths capable of accommodating the world’s largest cruise ships, a 700-foot mega yacht berth, a new marina, a 3,000-person amphitheater, and more than sixty retail stores.
