Between June 9 and June 18, 2026, two officers from the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) Fire Service successfully completed an intensive advanced fire safety and emergency response training program on the island of Mustique.
PC 901 Mitchell and PC 143 Dasouza dedicated ten days to mastering the high-stakes disciplines of advanced containment and crisis management. The training emphasized that survival during the critical initial minutes of a fire depends entirely on the speed, precision, and tactical knowledge of the first responders on the scene.
This critical capacity-building initiative was directly sponsored by The Mustique Company Limited. The RSVGPF highlighted this partnership not merely as a gesture of goodwill, but as a tangible and valuable investment in the nation’s collective safety framework. By equipping fire personnel with these specialized skills, the initiative directly enhances the protection of lives and property across the archipelago.
Upon their return, the RSVGPF commended PC Mitchell and PC Dasouza for their adaptability, sharp focus, and high level of personal discipline. Both officers have re-entered the ranks with an expanded repository of skills, ready to rapidly read emergency scenes and act decisively.
Through active support for specialized training opportunities like this one, the RSVGPF continues to sharpen its operational readiness and ensure its force evolves to meet the complex demands of modern public safety. By proactively preparing for emergencies rather than waiting for them to occur, the force aims to provide safer communities and a more resilient service for the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
