ANTIGUA– Police are currently investigating the death of a 19-year-old woman whose lifeless body was pulled from the ocean at Devil’s Bridge early Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Zowie Tomlinson, a student at Pares Secondary School.
According to an early Sunday police release, initial reports suggest that Tomlinson jumped into the sea from the Devil’s Bridge area late Saturday. An online post, which was purportedly written by the young woman’s best friend, indicates that the friend was present at the scene when Tomlinson jumped.
Following the incident on Saturday, initial search efforts had to be called off due to difficult conditions. Authorities resumed the search early Sunday, which tragically concluded with the recovery of her body from the water.
In the wake of this tragic event, deep thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt sympathies are being extended to Tomlinson’s family, friends, and loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time. The police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death remains ongoing.
