Trinidad state-owned carrier Caribbean Airlines has abruptly ended its fifteen-year partnership with the beverage company Blue Waters following the legal detention of the brand’s owners.
The airline’s leadership mandated an immediate transition to Dasani bottled water, a move that reportedly caused operational difficulties for flight crews during the sudden implementation.
This shift occurred while the founders of Blue Waters, Dominic and Genevieve Hadeed, remain imprisoned under allegations of a conspiracy targeting government officials.
The Hadeeds have denied these claims through their legal team, asserting that their incarceration is unconstitutional and stems from personal or political grievances.
Despite the long-standing relationship and significant annual expenditure on the product, the airline bypassed traditional procurement tenders to facilitate the rapid change in service.
