The Government’s Meteorological Office at the Argyle International Airport has issued a weather advisory for residents and motorists as a tropical wave begins its passage across the islands.
As of 12:00 noon today, Saturday, July 11th, 2026, local conditions were reported as overcast and slightly hazy with light rain already falling. The temperature stood at 26.5 °C with a high relative humidity of 92%. Over the past 24 hours, the islands have already recorded 10.0 mm of rainfall.
Meteorologists predict that conditions will remain cloudy to overcast and breezy through at least 6:00 pm this evening. The public should prepare for pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of light rain, and isolated thunderstorms.
Due to the saturated conditions and predicted rainfall intensity, a weather advisory is in effect. Residents and motorists located in areas prone to flash flooding and landslides, or those living near rivers and streams, are urged to exercise extreme caution. Winds are expected to pick up, blowing from the East-Northeast to East at speeds of 15 to 35 km/h (09 to 22 mph), with the potential for higher gusts.
