CARDTP ICT Equipment Distribution Under the VSWIFT Initiative
The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) has officially commenced the distribution and installation of critical ICT equipment to several partner government agencies. This initiative is a key component of the Vincy Single Window for Trade (VSWIFT), aimed at strengthening the nation’s digital capacity and modernizing trade-related services.
The newly distributed hardware has been specifically configured to support document processing activities linked to the upgraded ASYCUDA World 4.4 system. By utilizing these digital platforms, participating agencies will be able to more efficiently process electronic licenses, permits, certificates, and other trade documents, significantly improving operational efficiency.
The distribution targeted six essential government units, with allocations based on specific operational requirements identified during the VSWIFT planning process:
- Plant Protection and Quarantine Unit: Four desktop computers, six tablets, and one printer.
- Animal Health and Production Division: Four desktop computers, four tablets, and one printer.
- Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment: Four desktop computers, four tablets, and one printer.
- Consumer Affairs Department: Four desktop computers, one laptop, three tablets, and one printer.
- Fisheries Division: Two desktop computers, two tablets, and one printer.
- Forestry Division: Six desktop computers, three laptops, six tablets, and two printers.
To ensure the equipment is properly integrated into daily operations, the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) is providing direct support for the installation and setup.
This effort represents a major step in the continued digitization of trade-related services in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, ensuring that government agencies are fully equipped to deliver faster and more reliable services to the public.
