Professional Interviewing for Modern Policing Training Session

On Wednesday, 22nd July 2026, members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) participated in a Professional interviewing for Modern Policing training session facilitated by Mr. Rawlson Tucker, a former police officer with extensive experience in investigative interviewing.

The session was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (A.g)Trevor Bailey, SOP Elgin Richards, Inspector Quow, Inspector Duncan, andmembers of the CID. The training focused on enhancing officers interviewing skills through modern, ethical, and victim-centred investigativepractices.

Participants explored the PEACE model, cognitive interviewing techniques, the W-Z non-confrontational approach, and trauma-informed interviewing, with emphasis on professionalism, effective communication, and conducting interviews that support quality investigations and theadministration of justice.

The session equipped investigators with practical knowledge and techniques to strengthen investigative practices, enabling them to conduct interviews that are professional, ethical, and effective in supporting successful investigations and the pursuit of justice.

At the conclusion of the training, Deputy Commissioner of Police (A.g.) Trevor Bailey expressed his appreciation to Mr.Tucker for sharing his knowledge and expertise with the officers. Mr. Tucker also donated zip cuffs and tactical belts to the Royal St. Vincent and theGrenadines Police Force, which were received on behalf of the organisation.

The Commissioner of Police, the High Command, and the rank and file of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force extend sincere appreciation to Mr. Rawlson Tucker for investing his time, knowledge, and experience in the professional development of the officers.

The organisation is also grateful for his generous donation of zip cuffs and tactical belts, which will support officers in the execution of their duties. His contribution reflects a meaningful commitment to strengthening modern policing and enhancing the capacity of the Force to serve the public effectively.
