A special town-hall-style gathering is scheduled to bring together the St. Vincent and the Grenadines diaspora in New York to foster collaboration and dialogue with the home country.

The event, titled “Home is Where the Heart Is,” will be held on Saturday the 19th at the Marriott Hotel at the Brooklyn Bridge, commencing at 3:00 PM. Organized in partnership with Invest SVG, the national investment promotion agency, the forum aims to establish an ongoing dialogue between Vincentians living abroad and representatives from home.

Prime Minister Godwin Friday has emphasized the vital role that the overseas community plays, calling them the nation’s “best ambassadors” who carry the memories and love for their homeland in their hearts.

The forum is designed to be highly interactive, offering a space for citizens to voice their perspectives. “We want to continue to have that conversation so we could hear from you about your dreams and aspirations for your country, your fears and your concerns and that you could hear from us as to what we are doing here,” Friday stated.

Organizers have urged attendees to bring their ideas, questions, and concerns to the meeting to explore how the diaspora and local authorities can work together to make things better.
