‘Me go kill you’: Man charged with threats to elderly retiree

FARMER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT, THREATENING LANGUAGE, AND THROWING MISSILES

On September 5, 2026, police arrested and charged Ronald James, a 58-year-old Farmer of New Grounds, with the offences of assault, threatening language, and throwing missiles.

According to investigations, the accused allegedly assaulted a 62-year-old retiree of the same address by beating her about her body with his hands, causing actual bodily harm.

Furthermore, he was charged with, while in a public place, namely New Grounds public road, making use of threatening language towards the said complainant by stating, “Me go kill you cause you kill my brother.”

Lastly, he was charged with allegedly throwing missiles in a public place, namely New Grounds, at a 60-year-old Farmer of the same address.

The offences were committed on July 7, 2026. James was granted station bail in the sum of $2,000.00 ECC with one surety. He is expected to appear before the Colonaire Magistrate Court on September 10, 2026, to answer the charges.
