2026 Outdoor National Championships

The Archery Association of SVG, Inc. recently held their outdoor national championships on Saturday September 5th, 2026 at the National Archery Range in Belair.

Archers competed in various categories/divisions in a tightly contested event.  For the first time, we had archers shooting Olympic distance at 70m, along with archers shooting in beginner and development categories.  The hot conditions proved a worthy opponent as archers battled the heat to shoot their respective qualifying round of 72 arrows, setting several new national records in the process.  This was followed by a knockout elimination round to determine the champions in each category.

After several exciting elimination matches (including one shoot-off), champions emerged as follows:

Recurve Men 70m

GOLD MEDAL – RAYON CLARKE

SILVER MEDAL – IAN GIBSON Recurve Women 70m

GOLD MEDAL – KAREN PALMER

SILVER MEDAL – RICHOL RICHARDS Recurve Development Men 50m

GOLD MEDAL – VANBURN HARRY

SILVER MEDAL – ADRIAN PARRIS

BRONZE MEDAL – TRISTAN BALLAH Recurve Beginner Combined 30m

GOLD MEDAL – ALEXYS LIVERPOOL

SILVER MEDAL – DREDEN LEWIS

BRONZE MEDAL – GARVANIQUE WALTERS Barebow Beginner Men 30m

SILVER MEDAL – KRIS SIMMONS

Special Thanks to the Minister of Sports Hon. Kaschaka Cupid & Sen. Chelsea Alexander for visiting our event and showing their support and to the National Lotteries Authority for their generous assistance.

A 2-member team will be participating at the Barbados Senior Games later this month, and an 11- member delegation travels to Guyana in October for the 2026 Caribbean Development Championships and the inaugural Caribbean Championships.
