The Windward Islands Volcanoes cricket franchise is officially relocating its primary operations from St. Vincent to the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia.
This strategic transition, scheduled for October 1, establishes a three-year residency supported by a formal agreement between local sports authorities and the regional cricket board.
The move aims to enhance local player development by providing St. Lucian athletes and coaches with direct access to professional training environments.
This change follows the recent departure of the team’s head coach and marks a new chapter for the franchise, which has previously rotated through several islands.
By centralizing in Gros Islet, the organization hopes to create a more robust pathway for youth cricketers to refine their skills alongside seasoned professionals.
