Coming on the heels of nine nominations in the 2026 World Travel Awards, St. Vincent and the Grenadines continues to gain international recognition, this time across six categories in the 2026 Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, one of the United Kingdom’s leading consumer-voted travel awards.
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) has welcomed the latest recognition as another opportunity to showcase the diversity and appeal of the destination to the international travel market. With winners determined by public vote, Vincentians at home and across the diaspora, as well as visitors, friends and supporters of the destination, are encouraged to show their support by voting HERE before voting closes on 27 October 2026. Every vote contributes to SVG’s opportunity to secure these prestigious recognitions and further strengthen its presence on the global tourism stage.
The destination has been shortlisted for the coveted Most Desirable Island Country award and has also been nominated in five additional categories celebrating some of the qualities that make St. Vincent and the Grenadines a distinctive Caribbean destination:
- Most Desirable Country for Culture & Heritage
- Most Desirable Country for Nature & Wildlife
- Most Desirable Country for Adventure
- Most Desirable Country for Gastronomy
- Most Desirable Country for Sustainability
The six nominations highlight the diversity of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ tourism offering, from its rich cultural traditions and authentic Vincentian cuisine to its lush landscapes, marine environment, adventure experiences and commitment to preserving the natural beauty and character of its 32 islands and cays.
Every vote counts.
Voting is open until 27 October 2026, ahead of the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards ceremony on 4 November 2026, alongside World Travel Market (WTM) London.
Chief Executive Officer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA), Shafia London, welcomed the recognition and encouraged the public to rally behind the destination.

The Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards celebrate the destinations, experiences and travel brands most admired by Wanderlust readers and travellers, making the recognition an important opportunity to strengthen the destination’s visibility within the UK and wider international travel market.
