Shipping provider PAS Cargo USA has announced the upcoming implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on ocean shipments moving between the United States and all Caribbean ports.
While ocean carriers across the shipping industry announced peak surcharges effective October 4, 2026, PAS Cargo USA is delaying its implementation date until October 25, 2026. According to the company, this delay is designed to provide customers with extra lead time before the higher rates take effect. The surcharge will remain active through March 7, 2027.
The fee will be assessed across all open tariff and service contract rates, applying to both Full Container Load (FCL) and Less Than Container Load (LCL) shipments.
The additional charges are structured as follows:
- 20FT Standard Container: US$250.00
- 20FT Reefer Container: US$300.00
- 40FT Standard Container: US$500.00
- 40FT Reefer Container: US$600.00
- 45FT Standard Container: US$563.00
- Less Than Container Load (LCL): US$0.31 per cubic foot, with a minimum charge of US$5.00
