PepsiCo recalls over 120k cases of Gatorade in the U.S. due to food dyes

PepsiCo, Inc. is recalling 122,021 cases of Gatorade nationwide due to undeclared Yellow No. 6 and potentially Yellow No. 5, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall applies strictly to 28-ounce bottles of four specific flavor varieties:

  • Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero
  • Gatorade Orange
  • Gatorade Orange Zero

The recalled drinks were distributed across 38 states, including New York and New Jersey.

Consumers should inspect their bottles for the following identifying lot codes and corresponding expiration dates:

The FDA has classified this action as a Class II recall. This classification indicates that exposure to or consumption of the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.
