The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) has issued an emergency news release informing the public that the passage of an active Tropical Wave has created major operational challenges, leading to service disruptions across several national water supply systems.

Heavy rainfall and environmental impacts have compromised several key water supply networks, resulting in total outages and precautionary shutdowns:

Complete Water Outages: The Majorca, Montreal, and Mamoon Water Supply Systems have been severely affected, leaving the communities they serve completely without water.

Precautionary System Closure: The Perseverance Water Supply System is experiencing high turbidity levels. To prevent potential contamination of the municipal water supply, the CWSA has temporarily closed the facility as a precautionary measure.

Technical crews have been deployed across the island and are actively working to clear affected infrastructure and restore water supply to impacted areas as quickly as possible.

The CWSA warns that additional pipeline breakages could occur within the distribution network, potentially causing unforeseen outages in other communities. Residents are encouraged to report any water outages or visible pipe breakages directly to the CWSA.

Solid Waste Collection Delays

Regularly scheduled solid waste collection services remain in effect nationwide. However, the Authority notes that collection schedules may experience delays in areas affected by heavy flooding and road blockages.

The CWSA expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the inclement weather and thanked the public for its patience. The Authority confirmed it is actively monitoring the situation and will release further updates on restoration efforts as the day progresses
