A proposed US$3.2 million commercial helicopter service designed for tourism transfers and emergency medical evacuations (medevac) has entered line ministry review as part of St Vincent’s national investment portfolio.

The proposal was disclosed in the House of Assembly by the Minister of Foreign Affairs during an update on active investment proposals managed by state agency Invest SVG.

Classified within the aviation, tourism, and medical services sectors, the proposed project aims to establish dedicated rotorcraft services across the multi-island state.

Key operational details disclosed include:

Proposed Investment Value: US$3.2 million (approximately EC$8.6 million).

Core Services: Aerial transfers for tourism emergencies and rapid medical evacuations across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Sector Focus: Aviation, Tourism, and Emergency Medical Support.

Current Status: Under line ministry evaluation.

The helicopter service is currently undergoing technical evaluation by relevant line ministries, primarily the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation authorities.

The review is evaluating operational safety, airspace integration, emergency response protocols, and infrastructure requirements. While Invest SVG facilitates investor engagement and prepares project documentation, formal approval remains subject to statutory review by line ministries, the Physical Planning and Development Board, and Cabinet.
