The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services issued a 72-hour weather outlook on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, warning of approaching moisture associated with a trough system that is expected to converge across the islands by Friday night.

According to the report prepared by meteorological forecaster Joan Mc Donald, initial fair weather will give way to rain and potential thunderstorm activity as the trough moves in over the weekend.

Thursday, Oct. 29: Conditions are forecast to remain fair to partly cloudy and breezy at times, with a few light showers and a slight haze thinning out across the area. No weather advisories are currently in effect.

Friday, Oct. 30: Weather will begin partly cloudy and breezy before becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms as moisture accumulates. A official “Be alert” weather advisory has been activated for Friday.

Saturday, Oct. 31: Expect mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers, pockets of heavy rainfall, thunderstorm activity, and a persistent light haze. The official status will remain at a “Remain alert” weather advisory.

Weather officials urge residents and motorists living in areas prone to flash flooding or landslides, as well as those located near rivers and streams, to exercise caution and monitor local updates closely.

Winds across the islands will maintain a moderate breeze of 20 to 25 km/h, with direction shifting between the northeast and southeast. Wind speeds may become gusty, reaching 30 to 35 km/h, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours.
