Shaquille King, a native of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines stranded in France has issued a public appeal for urgent repatriation assistance, alleging that consular official in U.K have denied support following the theft of his passport.

King reported to the St Vincent Times that his passport was stolen during travel in Europe and that he subsequently went to France seeking guidance on returning home. According to King, he was directed to contact consular authorities in London to secure an Emergency Travel Document (ETD).

King stated that he has been unable to pay the required €125 fee for the emergency travel documentation. Despite offering his remaining funds of €60 toward the cost, consular assistance was withheld, and he was reportedly advised to seek financial and living assistance from the French government.

After surviving for three weeks on his remaining €60, King reported severe personal hardship, stating he lacked adequate food and shelter for weeks while pleading for help to return home. He reported sending over 100 unanswered or rejected email appeals for assistance.

The Vincentian national accused consular representatives identifying London Consular officer Susan Medely of discriminatory treatment and failing to uphold basic human rights obligations toward a Commonwealth citizen.

King maintained that Commonwealth consular arrangements should extend emergency protection to non-British Commonwealth nationals in distress rather than treating them as outsiders.

The situation faces an imminent legal deadline with king warned that his authorized stay in France expires on November 23, after which they face forced overstay status and potential deportation.

The traveler emphasized that any visa overstay would be by force rather than choice, calling on authorities to step in immediately to facilitate an emergency return to Saint Vincent.
