Father Of 16 Children To Spend Next 4yrs At Belle-Isle Prison

Anthony Newbolt a 54-year-old farmer and father of sixteen children will be accommodated at the Belle-Isle Correctional Facility for the next four years on a charge of gun and ammunition possession without the relevant license on October 18th, 2017.

Newbolt was given the order on Friday, October 20th by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne after he pleaded guilty to possession of one semi-automatic 9mm semi-automatic pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition after he appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Thursday 19th.

Newbolt’s arrest stemmed from the execution of a search warrant at his home by Law Enforcement Officers.  The gun and ammunition were reportedly discovered in his bedroom under a pillow in his bedroom.

Grant Connell who represented Newbolt requested a non-custodial sentence but to no avail.
