An eleven months jail term was on Monday, November 6th, 2017 handed down upon Zimron Edwards 24-year-old resident from Edinboro on a charge of cocaine possession.
The sentence was given by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court and pleaded guilty for having in his possession 17 rocks of cocaine at Canouan on Sunday, November 5th, 2017.
The Court heard that on the date in question Police at Canouan acted on certain information and proceeded to a disco at Canouan in search of Edwards who they met and inform him that he was of interest to them with respect to a report of him having in his possession an offensive weapon.
A search was immediately conducted upon Edwards during which time the cocaine was discovered.
