Radio and social media were abuzz last evening with the news that Camilo Gonsalves son of St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves has been appointed Minister of Finance.

Most comments were directly stating that a Gonsalves dynasty has been set, with the young Caesar chances of being the emperor now in limbo.

In most Caribbean countries the Prime Minister holds the portfolio of Finance, young Gonsalves, however, has not been appointed PM.

For now, all of the speculations will remain speculations until the Unity Labour Party decides on a new leader.

The cabinet reshuffle will see Camilo Gonsalves losing portions of his portfolio, including Labour, Postal Service and the Bureau of Standards Industry and  Information.

He will keep the portfolios of Economic Planning and Sustainable Development with the addition of Finance.

The reshuffling saw Hon Saboto Caesar, now taking up new portfolios including Industry, Labour and the Bureau of Standards.

Caesar will keep his current portfolios of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation.

The current Minister of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government Senator Julian Francis will now take on responsibility for postal services.

The portfolio of information will now be taken up by St Clair Prince.
