An official launching ceremony will take place here next week for the commencement of Caribbean Airline’s CAL service between New York’s John F Kennedy airport and SVG’s Argyle International airport.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place next Monday 26th February at the Beachcombers Hotel from 7 pm. It will be hosted by St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority and Caribbean Airlines.
Earlier this month CAL announced that it was delighted to start non-stop service between SVG’s AIA and John F Kennedy airport.
The weekly service will operate every Wednesday and begin on March 14th, 2018. Customers will now benefit from the non-stop service between SVG and CAL’s other international and regional destinations.
Mr. Garvin Medera CAL’s CEO said that CAL is in the business of connecting people and this non-stop service between SVG and New York will provide closer links for travel and commerce between the Eastern Caribbean and North America.
Meanwhile
CEO of the SVG Tourism Authority Glen Beache stated that CAL continues to be a very significant stakeholder in connecting St Vincent and the Grenadines to the region and to North and South America.
The CEO added that the airline was the first to offer non stop flights to the new airport last year which also serves as an international gateway to the Grenadine islands.
The start of this nonstop service between SVG and New York will be on March 14th this year which will also be observed here as National Heroes’ Day.
