The eagerly anticipated climax to a Dance Marathon with the intention of breaking a Guinness World Record has been called off citing an injury to the knee, after Earl “Ole George Daniel sustained a fall from the performance platform.
The fall was due to misjudgment by Daniel as to the distance from the edge of the stage while his back was turned.
He has been attended to by medical personnel and is also due to be further attended to by his Physiotherapist later.
The decision to abandon the World Record attempt was taken at around 6:30 this morning by his brother who told him that he could not make it and that he should not risk hurting himself any further.
This event was to also be used as a vehicle for highlighting levels of violence and crime in our nation as well as raising awareness of the dangers of diabetes.
