The concert will be the second in a series of activities to mark the eight (8th) anniversary of the Pan Against Crime Programme.
Slated to make performances at the concert are the Police Band, Methodist Youth Fellowship, Calliaqua and Stubbs Police Youth Clubs, Elite Steel Band, Brighton Methodist School, Glen Christian Church, Potential Steel Orchestra, Police Youth Club (Stubbs) and the Fair Hall Government School.
The feature address will be delivered by Camillo Gonsalves, Area Representative of East St.George. Other remarks will be made by Prime Minister Dr.Ralph Gonsalves; Dr.George Fredericks, Deputy chair of the National Commission of Crime and Prevention; and Michael Charles, Commissioner of Police.
The Pan Against Crime Programme, the brainchild of Prime Minister Dr.Ralph Gonsalves, was implemented in several schools and community organizations across the country on February 20th, 2008. The initiative has taken a unique approach to fighting crime by helping young people in the country turn toward a life of music by learning how to play the steel pan.
