Trinidadian National Arrested By Police On Union Island

Stefforn Terros a 29-year-old fisherman from the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago has been arrested and charged by the police for having in his possession one firearm on August 14th, 2018 at Union Island.

Terros was on Thursday, August 16th, escorted to the Kingstown Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett and entered a plea of guilty.

Reports are that on the date in question Law Enforcement Officers acted on certain information and went to a fishing trawler which was docked at Union Island.

A search was carried out on the trawler of whom Terros was a crew member and the firearm was discovered on the deck.  Terros admitted to the police that the gun was his.

The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court to be heard on September 3rd, 2018 before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne to have the facts of the case presented and impose sentencing.

Terros was remanded into custody until such time while his cousin Darrian Terros was also intercepted with 106gms of cannabis with intent to supply to another.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and the matter was also transferred to the Serious Offences Court for sentencing.
