18 year old Maverick Joseph is said to be in police custody in connection with the stabbing incident at the Belmont primary school that left RRU officer Giovanni Charles dead.
Witnesses report that the officer was stabbed in the neck by a assailant who was attempting to enter the school fair without paying.
It is believed Officer Charles was providing security at the event. It is still unclear what caused the incident as investigations are on going.
