The release further states that as a consequence it jeopardizes the safety of the occupants.

The decision follows a consultation involving an SVGTU team, an engineer, a contractor along with teachers of the School on Wednesday 25 May 2016. The parents have been notified of the decision.

The SVGTU takes its responsibility seriously and will not sacrifice the safety of students, parents, its members or any other occupant of that building the release further stated.

The SVGTU findings contradicts that of the Ministry of Education which declared the Canouan Government School building safe.
