Caesar to represent Caribbean on Parliamentary Front against Hunger

Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Saboto Caesar has been appointed as the member to represent the Caribbean on the Parliamentary Front Executive Coordinating Committee.

Minister Caesar was elected to the position by participating members during the hosting of the fourth planning meeting of the Parliamentary Front Against Hunger in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“This decision by the fronts has awarded us full membership in the region. Latin America and the Caribbean is a unique and distinctive region, and the incorporation of the SVG PFH (Parliamentary Front against Hunger) in the Executive coordinating committee is milestone not only for the fronts but also in the fight against hunger, food and nutrition insecurity and malnutrition in the Caribbean,” Minister Caesar stated.

The meeting was held from April 6-8 at the Spanish Cooperation Training Centre in Colombia to establish the priorities of the Parliamentary Front Against Hunger in Latin America and the Caribbean for 2016.

More than 60 representatives of legislative bodies attended the meeting.
