The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) conducted a two-day Initial Damage Assessment (IDA) Workshop which commenced today February 20, 2019.

This workshop is organized by the National Emergency Management Organisation in collaboration with the UWI, Seismic Research Centre Volcano Ready Community Project SVG, through funding from the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) under the Country Directed Fund.

This Initial Damage Assessment Course targets persons from the North Windward and North Central Windward Communities and persons and agencies involved in conducting Damage Assessment in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The objectives of the workshop are to train key personnel to:

To collect, collate, interpret and report damage information and statistics at the community level. To collect the social information and to assess the needs of the persons impacted.

The Initial Damage Assessment Workshop was held at NEMO’s Conference Room.
